If you’re not confident in your motorbike driving skills, there are tours that run the pass with a guide and this is one of the most immersive ways to do it. The guides will be able to explain everything as you go, including the history of the pass, and the towns you visit on your way up or down it. Tours like this can be found in Hoi An, Da Nang and Hue. They can be expensive, but it’s still a more comfortable and exciting way to do the pass than by bus or train.
